They come in all flavors. I find jumbos to be the most aesthetically pleasing, although if I were to start one today, I'd probably use the OLF SJ design as a starting point.

My own 12 is a Guild 412.

I have searched for twelve string slothead tuners for a guitar i have that could use a new set and they are not to be found. I have found old used ones on ebay but their most likely beatup too.

I've always used a 17" Jumbo for 12s, figuring that treble would be no problem with the octave strings, and going with a shape that favors the bass. I'm not a big fan of Dreads myself, as I feel the tone is not as complex as I'd like, and tends to lack midrange. I bet a 16" SJ would work well too, and be easier to hold.
